Perfect Pied-a-terre for Shopaholics - Sell Flat (UK)

Perfect Pied-a-terre for Shopaholics

10 December 2015

Foxtons are marketing for sale a 113 square foot studio flat opposite Harrods for just short of £600,000 (that’s approximately £5,300 per square foot). Foxtons describe the flat as “cleverly arranged” and “gorgeous”. We agree.

But we wonder who would buy a flat like this? The flat would make an ideal pit stop for a busy shopper on Brompton Road, maybe return for quick shower after a hard-days-shop in Harrods, then on to Oratory for a bite before a nap back at the flat.

Photos on the Foxtons website show a cleverly designed room with a wall-mounted TV, mini kitchen area, including sink, microwave and hob. The kitchen can be hidden behind a sliding mirror.

The first-floor flat in Princes Court, Brompton Road, also boasts “clever” storage space and a “fully tiled” shower room according to the estate agent.

Floorplan of a studio flat

The photos were taken without one essential piece of furniture, the bed. There’s only really one place to put a bed in the flat, as the floor plan shows. We would be very interested the see how the new owner eventually incorporates a bed into this space. Any ideas?

As far as we can see the flat’s one and only window faces inward (to a light well). What more do you want for £600,000?

We think it’s more likely the flat will end up being rented, it’s also being marketed by Foxtons for rent at £275 per week. When you consider the location, in a prestigious apartment block in prime central London it’s sure to rent fairly quickly.
